Semiautomatic rifles, Shotguns, automatic pistols, Automatic rifles I consider assault weapons. Anything else I don't really consider assault weapons. Sure there are others that would be consider assault weapons but I don't believe they are.
Most citizens I believe should be able to have pistols or hunting rifles. Any other they should not.
Anyhow why does a regular citizen need that much firepower anyways. What protect a herd of Mexicans from coming to your house? Like you said your uncle is more dangerous with just a rifle than a person with an ak-47 or ar-15. And I also don't believe people should also have the right to own any explosives unless trained to use them.
My opinion........... people who can own assault weapons are ex military, current military, and law enforcement. Besides that... "No". I don't think giving Snake or Coffee assault weapons is a really good idea.

Guess I spoke too soon since you contradicted yourself. Hunting rifles are semi-automatics. And in many areas, hunting with rifles is illegal due to the distance a centerfire projectile can travel, so the only legal hunting weapon is a shotgun. Plus, shotguns work well against birds... rifles.... not so much.

Sooooo you want to limit the Right to Keep and Bear Arms based upon what type of job we have?
What makes Coffee or Snake unfit to own certain types of firearms?
Perhaps you think Coffee and Snake should only be allowed Muskets.
And I'll keep my explosives, thank you very much. Which BTW are regulated. You do know there are legitimate uses for explosives it's not all killing people with landmines and truckbombs.
Tell me if these are "Assault Weapons"
1.
Legal to own, semi-automatic .22 The new GSG-5 .22 caliber semi-auto rifle from American Tactical Imports is an exact replica of H&K MP 5 sub-machinegun aside from the caliber. Ergonomics and handling are identical to that of the MP 5 with an overall length of 33.5” and a weight of 6.6 pounds which makes it an ideal training tool for Law Enforcement, Military personnel or civilians. 22 long rifle offers an immense savings over 9mm/40/45 caliber ammunition allowing extensive range time at reduced cost to the user.
3. Legal to own, 37mm Flare Launcher Spike's Tactical brings you the HAVOC launcher. Can fire US Coast Guard 37mm flares, and accept adapters to fire 12ga flares. One can also reload 37mm for paintball, airsoft, etc. Fully legal, and remember that flares are an important part of maritime safety and rescue.
4. Legal to own, semi-automatic AK-47
5. Legal to own This ain't no famed M2 Browning .50cal Machine Gun, no..... The Browning M1919 was a light machine gun family widely used during the 20th century. It was used as a light infantry, coaxial, mounted, aircraft, and anti-aircraft machine gun by the U.S. and many other countries, especially during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. This beauty is a .308 Semi auto rifle , they are quality built & finsihed and backed up by a 1 year warranty .Rifle comes with rifle hard case for protection & 100 ammo links. If you are looking for the big boy toy or a great conversation piece these are a real head turner at the range !!
6. Legal to own, semi-automatic AR-15 The AR-15 platform is revolutionizing the firearms industry with the ease of swappable parts. The 5.56mm NATO shown above can have the "upper" swapped to different rounds, such as the .22, 9mm, 6.5mm, 6.8mm, or 7.62mm; allowing the user to adapt the rifle to different hunting / shooting requirements, or to save money on ammo. The "lower" is standard accross these platforms, allowing you to save even more money.
7. Legal to own Remington 870 shotgun with CAR collapsable buttstock.
8. Another Remington 870! Also, legal to own This one has a foldable buttstock.
9. apparently this photo was taken down.
10. Legal to own M-14 The workhorse of the Korea war, and used up to today by select USMC and Special Forces units. Semi-automatic. Known for it's long range accuracy and punch downrange, it is popular in the military as a sniper rifle, and by hunters and marksman for long distance shooting of big game or targets.
11. Legal to own! Another ex-military rifle that is now a popular rifle among sportsmen.
... Mauser K98
I really could go on and list more. But do you see any listed above that Snake and Coffee should not be able to own?

LOL - Well Carl, Snake does happen to own a few weapons that I guess you consider "assault".
And NJ happens to be one of those areas where you can't use rifles for hunting. There's a muzzle loading season, but for our deer season, we have to use shotguns with either buck shot or slugs.
